Important Changes you might need to know about

Hello! I sent out an email. In case you didn't get it, here it is. I am beyond humbled by all the support and love. I want to be able to serve you all and serve you to the best of my ability.


I have sent a request to Vagaro for an easier waiting list option. Waiting list or no waiting list, being booked two months out is unreasonable. I have been studying the current climate in the salon and here is what I have noticed. People come here more often because they are not traveling and this is a bit of a safe haven and get-away of sorts, plus they are spending a lot of time looking at themselves on the computer. I wish there were more hours in the day for all the things! I want to improve the experience here even more and make it easier to book. How can I do that? I have discovered:

  • I need even more time, not just for the cleaning. People don't want to be rushed right now. It is a different vibe. And nobody wants to feel stressed. We need the opposite, which is peace! And I intend to bring it.

  • I can't hire an assistant and double book. Well, I don't want to. I want to keep it one on one due to Covid.

  • My guests need more TLC. More neck, shoulder, trap and arm massages. More deep conditioning treatments.

I have been thinking long and hard and here are the changes going into effect for any future appointments:

  • No more men's cuts. Lately I have been calling them, 'Clipper cuts.' From now on, a cut is a cut. $70.

  • If your hair needs a blowdry, you need to book it. It is $18 for 15 min. more. This has been my policy for a long time and I have not enforced it. Please look for the 'haircut with blowdry' option if your hair takes more than 5 minutes to dry. (Styling used to be in the drop down Add-on portion, but now it will be built in with a haircut option to make it easier to find.)

  • You will see more Add-on options. Enjoy! Either way, I will give everyone a little massage for free. Yay!!!

  • Until my calendar clears up a little, if you would like to book a Premium day with me on my time off, let me know. It is 20% surcharge. (Which, reminds me, thank you for the tips! I have at least one or two less clients per day since the pandemic and it has been helping so much!) I will only have a few spots for premium appts, but considering the holidays coming, I am happy to help.

  • I will continue to keep The Patio Salon clean and safe to the best of my ability through the winter months.

All that said, I have a friend I can recommend. She is happy to come to The Patio for your first appointment, if you would like her to. Her name is Trish. She also has a home salon here in Olney. She is super sweet! Trish has been doing hair as long as I have and my other clients have loved her. She used to work at Progressions (a great salon) until Covid and decided home was best for everyone. Let me know if you would like to set up an appointment with her and I'll connect you. She has a nice sun room in the back of her house. I just want the best for you! I can't wait to keep making this a better and better get-away for you to renew and recharge.
