N. Do you only do hair extensions, is this true?

P. I have spent the last few years investing in hair extensions because I really love the transformations, but I will never stop doing color and cuts. I love the full array of all hair entails. So, the answer is, I do all the things. I never stopped.

N. Why don't you do stand alone haircuts?

P. Well, actually I kind of still do them...shhh. I just don't advertise it. If someone books a Spruce Me Up, a Haircut can be done then. ...There was a time when I was bursting at the seams and I could not handle the waitlist. I thought Vagaro's waitlist would help but, it actually sucks. I am now looking for a new and improved booking software. I can't wait to introduce it! It will be so user friendly.

N. I heard you changed your menu a few times Are you going to keep this one for a while?

P. Honestly? I hated the current one. But, just yesterday I re-wrote the descriptions and Iike it more now. I will keep it at least until I get my new booking software. Falling forward is making progress.

N. Lots of changes for you. Like an assistant! And Leisha. What is it like working with an assistant? Is it different for you?

P. When it's right, it's easy to get used to. (smile) I really appreciate your help. I am trying not to get too spoiled. We are a team. I include the clients in the team too. We all collaborate on the end goal. ...I honestly love having an assistant for so many reasons! It is so nice to have extra hands, and someone with young style and also someone to bounce ideas off of. You are also really good at styling!!! ...Leisha completes the team. She is so cool and does hair very much like I do. I can't wait to get a facial. She just learned YonKa!!

N. What other plans do you have for The Patio in the new year?

P. I have a couple fun plans for me personally, and then I have some plans for The Patio too. I really want clients to take advantage of customizing their appointments. I am going to fine tune that. Some people might want to get in and out faster and I am going to find ways add that as an option as well. I am continuing to look for new seasonal cocktails and pampering shampoo options. Always nice! More options to book with me, you and Leisha are all coming!

N. You mentioned plans for you personally this year?

P. I thrive on goals. I really need one or two. I really want to learn to surf or long board. Really both. I hope my body lets me! I want to travel to surf camps. I also plan on starting my talk show this year. It will include interviews with clients. I am super excited! I have had this in mind for years. Both of these ideas have been brewing!

N. Are you going to Greece this year?

P. Probably. I wish I could give you a date. Dean doesn't work like that. But, I really love going there. Only there isn't much of the surfing I like. I am glad I have Leisha and an assistant learning how to do extensions and everything to help out when I am gone.

N. How is it having Andrew back in the country?

P. It is so nice! I love seeing him! I don't see him as much as I would like, but he is moving home in June, I think. Right now he live at Joint Base Andrews.

N. Is Elaina happy about that?

P. Yes and No. She loves talking to him but, not sharing a bathroom. We will have to figure something out. She is exploring trade school options. If all goes well, by June she will be pretty busy too. Up until now, she has been a great help to me around here. I will miss it!

N. With all the changes you make, do you ever miss the way things used to be?

P. Oh, for sure! All the time. Change is hard. But for me, staying the same is worse. I know, right now, I am in the middle of a big growth spurt. I have a vision of something really great and I feel super grateful for all of my clients who are still part of our culture. I am grateful for those who believe in where we are going. I know change is hard. I really appreciate you believing in me. I am building something unlike anything out there. I am not done yet.
